From time to time we will put on events and add details here

On Tuesday September 27th from 12noon till 6pm we are providing free bike checks & tips on maintaining your bike, as well as fixing minor problems at a 'pay what you can afford rate' and selling a few bikes (and related things) at affordable prices.

On Saturday October 1st from 11am till 2pm we'll be hosting an event with the Cargo Bikes of Stroud group and screening the MOTHERLOAD film, at the Sub Rooms in Stroud.

Both events are part of Transition Stroud and the Climate Coalition's Great Big Green Week.

MOTHERLOAD is a crowdsourced documentary in which the cargo bicycle becomes a vehicle for exploring motherhood in this digital age of climate change. The film follows director and new mother Liz Canning on her quest to understand the increasing tension between modern life and our hunter-gatherer DNA, and how cargo bikes offer a solution. As Liz meets the people behind this push to replace cars with purpose-built bikes, she learns about the history and potential future of the bicycle as the “ultimate social revolutioniser".

Check out this inspiring documentary at The George Room of The Subscription Rooms in Stroud between 11am and 2pm on Saturday Oct 1st.

The event will also include a Q&A about the power and beauty of cargo bikes! The Q&A session will feature local mothers and others using cargo bikes locally, and various bikes with boxes, "long-tails" or trailers will be on display for you to have a look and ask any questions you have.

The screening and Q&A will follow the monthly market ride from Brimscombe Mill to Stroud Farmer's Market (which meets at 10am and sets off at around 10.30am).

We support the monthly market ride from Brimscombe Mill to Stroud Farmer's Market.

The family-friendly ride meets on the first Saturday of every month at 10am, riders can get a free drink from The Long Table courtesy of our friends at The Bike Drop - and usually a bike stamp for their arm too, and then we set off as a group along the road at 10.30am or a little after - riding as a group along the road.

The first few rides have been great - join us at the next ones on October 1st and November 5th.
